Amid the dynamic and ever-evolving web3 ecosystem, data security is of the utmost importance. Recognizing this, Consensys is proud to announce a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to the highest level of data security in web3 - we have achieved ISO27001 certification

This internationally recognized standard for information security management underscores our unwavering dedication to implementing the most robust security controls. Other web3 companies that have also been awarded this certificate include Fireblocks, Coinbase, and MoonPay.

Obtaining ISO27001 certification lays the foundation for a security program that is integrated and operationalized across Consensys.

The ISO certification: a global standard in data security

ISO27001 is a globally recognized standard mandated by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for the establishment and certification of an information security management system (ISMS). The certification process is assessed by third-party auditors and entails a thorough review of a company's information security management controls.

Achieving ISO27001 certification is evidence that Consensys has met international standards and demonstrates our commitment to ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of customer data, product information, and internal data.

The implementation of the ISO27001 certification has been on the security roadmap since early 2022, taking about 18 months to fully implement a structured and audit-ready information security management system (ISMS).

Embracing best-in-class information security standards for all web3

As regulatory scrutiny around data security continues to intensify, the Consensys ISO27001 certification demonstrates our commitment to adhering to the highest standards that aim to reduce the risk of data breaches and the exposure of sensitive information.

In addition, Consensys has also received the SOC2 type one and two certifications obtained for Consensys Staking, MetaMask Institutional, and MetaMask. Requests for the SOC 2 reports and access to the ISO 27001 certificate can be found on the Consensys Trust Center page.

As we continue to innovate and grow, Consensys remains committed to maintaining and exceeding these high standards of security and trust. We encourage other web3 organizations to embrace best-in-class information security standards to collaboratively foster a culture of security awareness that is essential to navigate the evolving landscape of emerging technologies across web3 and threats.
